The Outer Banks Pier: Beginning on the right-hand side of this panoramic perspective of the Outer Banks Pier are three large rugged scarred pilings. The texture and scarring are a combination of fractal burning and paint. They invite your eyes to follow the familiar shape of the pier to the horizon where you are met with soft pink, rose, lavender, and violet hughs of an iconic Outer Banks predawn sky. The sky is filled with the movement of the grains of the wood canvas this image is on, each grain an ombre succession of color. The ocean is a calm glass reflecting the sky perfectly. Everything is still even the wind sock above the pier.
